Zimbra on FreeBSD!
#1
Hey guys,

Within a few days, we're going to announce the porting of the popular Zimbra (http://www.zimbra.com) mail collaboration software to FreeBSD. Their software is a bit complex and unruly to make an official FreeBSD port out of but I'm hoping that somebody can turn it around to a PBI as soon as possible.

If somebody can commit to looking into that, I'll make sure our marketing department mentions it in the press release.

We'll have instructions and the patches that we made available shortly. We're testing it now. Still a few kinks to work out.

Shhh! Keep this quiet for a couple of days ;-)

Cheers,
-matt

Actually, that looks like a great product. I was actually glad to see that there is an opensource license. Cool, cool. Thanks for the INF. Big Grin

Can this work with Kontact ?
#5
I doubt, it's an Ajax application, and Kontact is a C++/Qt application...

The next app i'd like to see here is songbird. It's shaping up to be big!

They support windows, Linux and Mac. That should be our default media player in the future.

Agreed.

I'm using it in Windows instead of Windows Media Player. It's so much cooler, and is indeed a very promising application.

Songbird is nice for it's youth and it could replace Amarok in my joy when it matures.

For now it sure as heck pwns iTunes fancy bloat while I wait for Amarok4Win32 to become an actual project.

Looks good! Has anyone tried to build it from source?

Is this still in the works? I have a client that runs FreeBSD 6.1 for mail with sq webmail. I need to find another web client and Zimbra looks good but might be a huge task to get it to run on FreeBSD. Let me know if this is still active as I might be able to help out
