Problem e6220 Overheat
#1
I have a Dell E6220, and when I run pcBSD 10.3 the fan is stuck on and the CPU seems to be running warm.

It does not completely overheat as far as I can tell. I did a brief install of OpenBSD6.0 recently, and this problem did not occur. While the laptop get can hot when stressed, it does not normally run hot at idle ... so to speak.

I have attached (below) my sysctl output, and I am going to start investigating on my own. But it has been a while since I debugged at this level of a system, so if anyone has suggestions on where to begin, please share.

PC-BSD has been renamed to TrueOS. As a result, you'd be better off just installing TrueOS and seeing if you still have the same issues. Here's the link: https://www.trueos.org/
