Thumbs down Update Manager glitch
I am running 9.1 (64 bit, Gnome) on a Compaq with a Sempron processor. All hardware seems to work just fine and I have no major worries with the system, which has been up for about six months.

About a week ago the update manager icon announced that there were system updates available. I clicked on the icon, and after a short search, the update window announced "Free PCBSD Security Update" as the only update. I checked it and then installed. When it had finished, the update program rescanned and announced the very same message. I installed a second time, and it came back again, and again.

There is a problem somewhere, apparently either an infinite loop or possible a fault in storing just what updates have been installed. Since the first occurrence, I have received no updates of any other source. Prior to a few weeks ago, the update program worked normally, and I have not been prying in places where I shouldn't go. Any ideas?

I have the same problem, apparently applying both to system updates and software packages. I notice that when I run "pc-updatemanager pkgupdate" at the command line, I get errors of the following form:

05/10 07:11:24 [ERROR] CUID#31 - Download aborted. URI=
Exception: [] errorCode=3 URI=
-> [] errorCode=3 Resource not found

That real URI of the remote packages is: http://....../packages/9.1-RELEASE/amd64/..... (not 9.1-RELEASE-p3) so for some reason the URI used by the updater is not being constructed properly, as far as I can see.

As yet I haven't found a solution.

Hey guys sorry for the troubles you are having with the package update system. We are well aware of the issue, and have committed a fix to the server. However unfortunately the fix requires the mirrors to completely resync with the master server. We do not have a good time estimate on how long this will take as our servers are slammed right now. When it does indeed finish we will update you guys. Thanks!

Exclamation 6 days later...
I am not able to apply System Updates either. I either get "No Address Record", "Forbidden" or "Not Found", depending on the mirror selected. - No Address Record - File Unavailable - Forbidden - Not Found

That's it for the US mirrors. I even tried the one in Germany ( and received the "No Address Record" error.

It's been over two weeks. Any updates?

I used pkg upgrade and was able to update, but I'm using rolling release and pkg-ng.
