I downloaded PC-BSD DVD 64bit (amd64) - Complete install + Optional Components and the ISO MD5 Sum checks out. I get as far as the different options for booting but none of the 9 choices ends up in anything thing other than freezing or rebooting.
I have a AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition a AM2+ Gigabyte MOBO and 4 gigs of DDR2800 RAM. A 8800GTS 512 with a Samsung Syncmaster 226BW monitor using the Digital connection.
I am using a SATA 2 Maxtor 250GB for the hard drive. The first attempt I had PCLinuxOS 2009 installed on it and then I read somewhere in a guide here that the installer didn't want to partion so I deleted PCLinuxOS 2009 and tried it with all Free Space on the hard drive. Still No Luck !
The last entry before the automatic reboot is :
cpuid=0
uptime=1s
and then the automatic reboot in 15 secs, press any key on the console to cancel.
It's to bad but I guess I'll just wait for 7.02, I was really looking forward to trying it, but I thought I would let someone know something is askew with this release.

I've the same problem too. (AMD Athlon X2 4200+ and MSI K9n Platinum (nForce 570 MCP)).

Installation form USB goes slightly further: but installer (after hitting damn install button) gives me this: /blah/bldfjm... seek failed: invalid argument. And there are some error reports about partitioning in console (another vt (ctrl+alt+f1)). The disk just isn't partitioned.

I think that both USB and DVD amd64 versions hadn't been properly prepared for release.

sorry for my english

Well, it's not the disk.
I just downloaded the cd version and got the same exact thing.
And by the way, most if not all of the download links are screwed up to. I tried all of the download links for the 64 bit cd #2 and ever link says the file doesn't exist.
I got cd #2 by just going to http://pcbsd.eldorin.net and sure enough there it is, so the links are borked and so is the install CD & DVD.
That's enough trying of PCBSD for me !
Too bad, see you on the next release.

Best way to handle it is to shout loudly at the developers, you can find their emails on contact->team members off the sites top nav bar.
