Default Unable to burn ISO images from K3B after 1.5 Upgrade
CDRecord returns the error

Code:
CDRecord has no permission to open the deivice
The problem occurs both with the PBI install of K3B and the latest port.

Appears to be a misspecified permission on the CD/DVD writer.

I've worked around it (for the moment) by using KDESU, but that is just plain ugly.

Can anyone help?!?

Perhaps your /etc/devfs.conf has changed.

I usually don't use my laptop for burning ISO's (it's a laptop after all lol) so I havn't used K3B for it yet.

I do know I required root access just to _mount_ my CD-ROM drive, I could imagine trying to write data to it !

If it has, it wasn't changed by me!

and my Lappie is a desk top replacement (circa 1999, but still...) and could burn CDs with no issue...

I have a fresh install of 1.5, including K3B from the disk 2 iso. I have burned several data cds with it without a hitch.

I've seen posts that state issues with PBIs not working after upgrading to 1.5.
Grab the ISO for disk 2 and install that PBI, see if it fixes your issue.

Tried the latest version PBI (from the site, not the second disk... which has EXACTLY THE SAME QA problem as it did in DaVinci!) before builidng the latest port...

it's still got the same problem on CDRecord...
