You need a separate hard drive, or a blank primary partition. I recommend the extra hard drive option.

In the event that OP is exceptionally confused ("linux pcbsd"?) I would just like to clarify:

* PC-BSD 1.4.1 is based off of FreeBSD 6.3-PRERELEASE (there is most certainly no Linux involved)

* FreeBSD 7.0RC1 is essentially just a newer version of FreeBSD.


Installing linux in combination with either will require a separate installation as noted above.
