Default Default root password?
I downloaded and am using the VM image for VMware Workstation 6. When I try and switch to the superuser Konsole, it asks for a password, which I didn't set up initially and therefore can't change or use. Does PCBSD come with a default root password?

Thanks!
*Mani.

You cannot install PCBSD without setting a root password. Of course, you can set it to nothing I think. In which case you change get to root simply by typing su.

It does not come with a default passwd.

EDIT: My mistake I didn't the VM part. The password is provided in the link he provided above.

I have just downloaded the VMWare image for PC-BSD 7, and it does not appear that the root userid and password are shown anywhere. The link given above leads to the download page. Can anyone help? I can't install VMWare tools without them. Thanks.

The last vmware image was:

Code:
Username: pcbsd
Password: pcbsd
Root Password: pcbsd
according to the download notes.

It would seem that whoever added the download item for the PC-BSD 7 VMWare Image forgot to add them.
