The ATI Xpress200M is not a good card for hardware acceration under Xorg, it's not even a good card for gaming under Windows with DirectX 9.

I believe that I have always been stuck with OpenGL support through software with this card... It's not very different from Radeon R300 based chips afaik either. A long time ago there was a guide on enabling 3D Acceration in these kinds of cards but it was integrated into PC-BSD's default setup.

Interesting bug report.

If you are planning on running Beryl/Compiz/Compiz-Fusion, I would not count on it... As far as games, the Tremulous 1.1.0 and Tuxkart PBI's rans at micro-scopic speed on my laptop but I have not tested it since the change from Xorg 6.2 to 7.2.

Doom I/II by way of prboom and SuperTux compiled from ports work great though. I was planning on testing Chromium BSU later to see if it is even playable with this crap of a ATI card.

Hi guys,

I using Compaq Presario V2406AV, its using ATI XpressM200
also, and I have a plan to running Beryl/Compiz/Compiz-Fusion.

I haven't yet installing PC-BSD on my lappie..
So, all I need to know is,
Is it any problem will occur if I implemented one of those
display enhancement???
How about the looks, is it any problem with it??

I am still thinking that this card will decrease the
performance of them, creating a crash or something...

Thanks
Rachmat Hidayat Al Anshar
