First, calm down and take a deep breath. Second, you sound like you don't have a clue.
The intel driver is installed by default and can be selected during install or using the Display Setup Wizard at boot up.
If you can't make that driver work, don't panic and don't start whining: the driver is incomplete and some chipsets have trouble with it, even old chipsets like i915, this is the cruel reality, deal with that. Even though the man pages say they support that chipset it doesn't mean that if one 950 works yours or other 950 will. The fact that it if the box says its an intel 950 means its just the base, no more. Not all 950s, 965s or 915s are the same, you should already know that.
You might want to try 915resolution to hack the bios at bootup and set your native resolution using the vesa driver. This means no 3d support, and no hardware 2d acceleration, ok. No beryl and sluggish eye candy.
You might get lucky in an update of the intel driver, but you might not, so, don't hold your breath waiting for it to work.
Consider yourself warned.
