HI,

I'm french user and my english is poor, sorry.

My problem is about virualbox.

My OS is windows vista but I try PCBSD with Virtualbox before really installed on my PC.

When I want installed guest addition for VirtualBox, the message display :

Code:
VirtualBox 1.5.0 Guest Additions installation
Please install GNU make.
Please install the build and header files for your current Linux kernel.
The current kernel version is 6.2-STABLE
Problems were found which would prevent the Guest Additions from installing.
Please correct these problems and try again.
from yesterday I search but I do not find

Can you help me? one link for downloads for example

Thank you very much and still sorry for my english.

The guest additions are for Linux, not BSD, so I doubt they'll work. I'm just amazed you got PC-BSD to run in VBox at all.

Well this is very cool indeed! I just installed PC-BSD 1.4 into VirtualBox 1.5.0 on an XP host and it "seems" to run just fine. I thought PC-BSD didn't work in virtualbox, but it is in the guest OS list selection when making a new virtual machine. Maybe something changed with 1.5.0 and/or the move to FreeBSD 6.2 and/or PC-BSD 1.4 changes ...... but it's cool

Installing ports collection atm and all is going fine.

Hi again - I can't get it to run full screen no matter what I try. I cab get the prgram to run fullscreen, but the OS window is not streched and so appears as a little 1024x768 window in a sea of black.

I've stopped trying, as I find VMWare better for hosting PC-BSD at this point. I am really impressed though that ViretualBox has got it working this well. I'm going to keep an eye on VirtualBox from now on to see how they progress.

I'm have no idea about the guest tools install - I would suggest the only way to get this worked out is to contact the developers and see if perhaps someone has an experimental FreeBSD implementation, or tips on how to make it compile.

You're getting this message because the installation is expecting some form of Linux.

Since PC-BSD isn't Linux, it's failing due to the false assumptions it's making.

Hi,

Thank you for your informations, now it's clear for me.
I have abandoned Vbox and I have installed VMware. After installation VMware tools, VMware-config-tools suggest 9 different resolutions . My origin resolution is 1440X900 and here I have 1152X864.
If I choose 1152X900 or more I have the vertical scroller :?

this is not perfect but it's better
