Default 1.4 freezes my system
I recently installed 1.4 beta when KDE boots up my whole system freezes, I know it should work since I can get the same exact system running on the same machine but think it's a bug with a kernel patch that pcbsd uses 1.3 worked on my system also

Please post any error messages or unusual/unexpected behavior you experience. That way, when someone with expertise comes along (ie someone other than me) they will have some clues to go on.

I've got the same problem. The system is absolutely unusable. It freezes every 5-10 minutes. There is neither predefined condition under which it freezes nor there is a log to show the problem.I'm using PC-BSD 1.3.4 and FreeBSD 6.2(with KDE) on the same machine with no problems.

My hardware is:
Video: GF 7600GT
CPU : AMD Athlon 64 3200+
MB : ASUS K8NE Deluxe
RAM : 1GB

Software:
OS : PC-BSD 1.4 RC
Status: Fresh install

By the way there is a problem with the icons. In the KMenu a lot of icons are missing.

You might want to run 'top' from the CLI.

See what's eating up all of your CPU time whilst it's 'freezing'.
