Default Dual Boot BSD / Linux
Hi,
I have a big problem..
I would like to test BSD with pc bsd
and I regret that because it installs lot of things by default...
And when I reboot I have the bsd grub

F1 Freebsd
F2 ??
F3 Linux
F4 Linux

Default: F1

Here I can't choose another thing that F1 :-(
so with "Enter" I have this:

Freebsd/i386 boot
Default:0:ad(0,a)/boot/loader
boot:No/boot/loader

and that's all. it doesn't run.

When I see with gparted I have all my disc unallocated !!!
:-(

But when I put pc bsd install cd I can see my partitions...

How to set like before? I would like to boot on linux.
Thanks for your help.
cassy

Which distri do you use ? You should reinstall grub on the linux partition and not in the MBR!

So for you it's normal if I have this:
Quote:
# fdisk -l

Disk /dev/hda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 1275 10241248+ a5 FreeBSD
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/hda2 6 38 265072+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/hda3 39 548 4096575 83 Linux
/dev/hda4 3099 9729 53263507+ 83 Linux

You should try a life CD or the best is to download a standart SuSE live cd/install cd, cause you got a repair the bootloader option

GUI doesn't do anything else that
grub
root (hd0,2) -> but here the filesystem is not recognize
setup (hd0)

if I try in my /home (/dev/hda4) with (root (hd0,3) it recognizes my filesystem.

I would like to know how to make a dual boot BSD/linux?...and why pc-bsd destroys my linux / partition...

it doesn't destroy it, no less than linux does. try gag as a boot loader -- taht is, assuming you have installed both oses.
