Default BSDStats.org
We're just short of 5000 users this month

BSD Stats doesn't really seem to say much, I mean, aren't there more than 5000 users that use PC-BSD?

It could well be.
Hopefully it is, but it all depends whether users have ticked the box "anonymously ping bsdstats" during installation

I consider BSDStats trustworthy. But I think this month has had more "users" than usual due to the Beta1 announcement. People tend to install it just out of curiosity

If you look at the bottom of this forum page:
Quote:
We have 10126 registered users
Therefore, it's already wrong.

Oh, no, don't trust this forum users figure, the huge majority are spambots to post backlinks, LOL.

But as far as BSDStats are concerned, for instance I test PC-BSD 4-5 times a month and each time I leave the "Report to BSDStats" option on, so in this case I count for 4-5 people, see...

lol ok, but I can assure you that even without the spambots, there are more than 5000 users simply because of how long FreeBSD is around. I also highly doubt that there's one Debian/kFreeBSD user.

If you rely on the number of forums users, then I should be considered user for all the linux distros which I've used over the last 6 years, which is not true, I only tested them for some time and left them.
