Later on today we will be updating the website with all the download information for the new 1.4 BETA release of PC-BSD.

I wanted to give all our loyal forum users a chance to get a head start on the download craze

We now have an official torrent server for ISOs, and I've just finished adding the 1.4 BETA ISOs to it.

As usual, you only really need CD1 to install, however with this release you will be able to load a variety of optional components from CD2, so you may wish to grab it as well. (The additional languages are on CD2 also)

is it different fron the wed snapshot?

the download ist only 30KB/s that´s not funny.

Yes, there are quite a few number of changes / fixes from the Wed snapshot

I am downloading both torrents now. Average D/L speed = approx. 19-20 kb/s per torrent and estimating 10 hrs. for each to download.

I think that right now only the server is distributing the files and that I may be the only one downloading as my KTorrent reports only one source. I will leave my computer on for several days to help seed the torrent.

I'm not sure if you saw the list of bugs Charles had sent after Wednesdays ISO, but a LOT of those were fixed.

Also, I did some updates to the installer, changed the look-n-feel for the add components page, and updated CD2 to have OpenOffice, K3b, FireFox and Opera as optional loads as well. Plus some other fixes, which I don't all remember at the moment
