Default Sigmatel SCSI-4 MSC device detects but does not mount
I'm having problems with a Matsui MAT140R MP3/WMA player. IT should be detected as a USP Flash Drive and mounted but I get this on the sysconsole...

Code:
umass0: Sigmatel, Inc. MSC Device, rev 2.00/0.01, addr 3
xptioctl: pass driver is not in the kernel
xptioctl: put "device pass0" in your kernel config file
da0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0
da0: <SigmaTel SDK Device 0100> Removable Direct Access SCSI-4 device
da0: 1.000MB/s transfers
da0: 3832MB (1961984 2048 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 122C)
When the device is detatched I get the following

Code:
umass0: at uhub0 port 2 (addr 3) disconnected
(da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): lost device
(da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): removing device entry
umass0: detached

So, any thoughts of getting HAL to detect the drive and display it in KDE?

Try "kldload pass" in shell and then reinsert drive.

Additional information found here.

Tried that.

It returns

Code:
Vaio-F403# kldload pass
kldload: can't load pass: No such file or directory
Checking for Pass

Code:
Vaio-F403# kldstat -v|egrep "da|pass"
                28 da
                30 pass
                109 ida/idad
                110 pci/ida
So I'm not much the wiser... I'm certain I'm just being thick
