I'm installing Apache2_PHP5 trough PBI file, after I've finish installing it then I am testing it by browsing my own IP address using internet browser, and it's going well without problem. My internet browser showing me the default index.php file.
But when I try to put my own php files including index.php flie, to the default document root, and once again I'm browsing my own IP address but there was an error message
403 Forbidden
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /usr/Programs/Apache2_PHP5/htdocs/index.php on line 4
then I'm checking my php file permission and it's already 755.
what is this message trying to indicate ? is it that our php program not compatible with MySQL version ? or any other meaning ?

Okay, I have just install MySQL5.0.24-PV5.0.24a trough PBI file, but another error message was appear.

How can I fix that problem ?

but when I installed in windows using XAMPP , it's running without any problem, then I'm try to install PAMP, because I think PAMP it's similar with XAMPP, but still there is a same problem, then I am checking the PHP version of both program, in XAMPP I found that the version of PHP is 4.3.6 in PAMP is 5.1.2

and now I have a question ?
Can I downgrade the version of the PHP from 5.1.2 to 4.3.6 ? and how to change it ?

this is the new version of PAMP, PAMP 5.2, you can choose the PHP version as you like, PHP5 and PHP4. you can choose it at the first time of the installation.
