Default KPPP DIAL-UP TOOL -
First, this is a first for me. I found PC-BSD while surfing the web. I must say this OS is really good. Second, I am looking forward to see PC-BSD after a couple more years of maturing. I intend to use this OS pretty much from now on.

Third, first bug I found: I have installed PC-BSD on 2 computers, one 450 mhz Pent 3, 256 RAM, and 333mhz, 256 RAM. On both I ran in to the same problem, when i go into the KPPP dial-up tool i get /etc/resolv.conf is missing or cant be read! I dont have these hooked up to a network. My goal is to see if the OS will see the modem to use to go onto the internet. I go int the configure in KPPP and then to query the modem. When I do an ATI modem query everything freezes. The only way out is to power down. This happens on both computers.

I am hoping to use PC-BSD on 16 computers to start a computer lab in a Christian school next year. I have come across other bugs but, one-at-a-time.

And the modems these are using are either Lucent or Agere? What changed? Did you make an /etc/resolv.conf? All it needs is your DNS servers, one to a line. Perhaps this might help http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO...-and-slip.html

Welcome to the forums and good luck on your computer lab.

i have read it now, my modem is an anydata modem and FreeBSD says that it supports it, but when i connect after awile or if i use konqueror to navigate in the web, when i open a new tab sometimes it freezes so it must be a problem of kppp or something , about the resolv.conf you have to create it....
