Default X-FI Sound Blaster
Hi, guys.
Is there any driver for "X-FI Sound Blaster" sound cards available for FreeBSD/PC-BSD or will there be any driver in a near future?
http://www.soundblaster.com/products...ubcategory=208
I'd like to buy one of those cards but i couldn't find any sound driver written for FreeBSD/PC-BSD.

This (ariff's driver) is supposed to work with Sound Blaster 24 bit cards, you might want to look at any of the docs as the one you are looking at may be supported. Good luck and it looks like a great sound card.

Not to disappoint you but i think Creative has no support for that card outside windows yet.

Check this site for the list of supported sound cards:

I used to buy creative but after lots of problems with their drivers and lack of proper support in Open Source OS's, i decided to look elsewhere...

Not to get disappointed, i bought a 'Sound Blaster Audigy 4' sound card. Then i downloaded a 'Emu10kx' audio driver from pbi directory and installed it. Now the sound works perfectly on PC-BSD.

Thanks a lot for your advise, guys.
