Default How to install ATI DRIVERS on PC-BSD?
hi all i have ati 9550 card.
i see that you have nvidia driver ready for this OS.
do you have or will have ati drivers in the future?
do you know how do install ati driver in this OS?

We don`t have native ATI driver ready right now but with Xorg 7.2 release real-soon-now we`ll have much better support.

tell me . what do you mean xorg 7.2?? pc-bsd is still in xorg 6.9
please explain me.

PC-BSD already got open source ATI drivers (DRI) installed for R300 chips (your 9550 is supported).

At some point soon (next 2 months) xorg 7.2 will be ported to FreeBSD. Sometime after that, PC-BSD will also upgrade.

Hmmm, something I spotted the other day was : http://support.ati.com/ics/support/defa ... deptID=894 ; On my look thru the AMD site.

Odd how they list a problem with an OS that they dont support :P and I know AMD want BSD support... so I ponder if we arnt going to see something soon, maybe when they update the driver interface for linux... think they will have a big non-windows release around that time anyway Perhaps its just the drugs talking tho :/
