The snd_sbc driver supports
Creative SB32
Creative AWE64
Creative AWE64 Gold
Creative ViBRA16C
Creative ViBRA16X

The snd_emu10k1 driver supports
Creative SoundBlaster Live! (EMU10K1 Chipset)
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy (EMU10K2 Chipset)
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 (EMU10K2 Chipset)
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 (EMU10K3 Chipset)

are the only Creative Labs cards I know that are supported out of the box with PC-BSD, the snd_emu10kx driver is an alterntive to the snd_emu10k1 driver for emu10k* chipsets like the Audigy 1, 2, and 4.

when i first loaded pcbsd i got an error message about some files in the dev folder cannot be found an when i load the emu driver i got the same thing, so do u guys think im dong wrong or i got to have something else?

What type of sound blaster does it say on the box ??

If you open the /etc/loader.conf file with kwrite you can post the contents of it here. Some times I've installed the emu10kx PBI but it fumbles the setup.

thats the error i got and im using a sound blaster live 24 bit
