Default 1.3 beta 1 installation on Dell Inspiron
I have installed PC-BSD 1.3 beta 1 on my Dell Inspiron. These are the "bugs" I have found:

1- French canadian keyboard is not working into the installation process
2- My WinXP partition is not usable any more even though I carefully selected an old linux partition for PCBSD (don't worry, a have my back up )
3- The screen resolution is sticked on 1024X768 (I know that some hacky things can be done, but I don't want to learn BSD coding - or any coding at all - to fix this).
4- The sound card is not detected (a pop up window appears on KDE telling me there is an error while initializing the sound driver).

PC-BSD (1.1 upgraded to 1.2) works great on my old desktop, but 1.3 is not usable on my laptop, at least in the scope of the previous "bugs".

Hi there here's a reply to your questions:

1. The beta only supports English language for system and keyboard
2. Use GAG bootloader to manage your OSes http://gag.sourceforge.net
3. There ARE hacky things that can be done, should you ask for them
4. Again, there ARE hacky things that can be done, should you ask for them

Beta, is for testing purposes and reporting bugs. It's not a snapshot from the future as many of us would like to

Are you sure your Linux and Windows partitions weren't on the same logical partition?

2- Partitions
I don't know what is a logical partition, but when I installed PCBSD 1.2, I saw that the windows partition is still there. However, I can not access to it when the system boots. GAG does not detect. All I got is

Code:
F1 ??
F2 FreeBSD
F3 ??
3- I could install nvidia drivers, but the computer does not have access to internet (this I why I chose PC-BSD with its included packages) and the USB key is not detected ( :?: ).

4- Here is the message I have from KDE

Code:
Sound server informationale message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device/dev/dsp can't be opened (No such file or directory)
The sound driver will continue, using the null ouput device

He means a partition created inside an Extended partition.

You can have 4 primary partitions, one can be made a "DOS Extended" partition that can contain a bunch of partitions in it, called "Logical Drives" each with there own drive letter in MS-DOS/Windows.

I've yet to have GAG fail to find one of my partitions, the BSD Boot loader is a diffrent story for booting them all hehe.
