My PS/2 mouse is not detected!

I have just installed PC-BSD and the first down-side was the fact that my mouse is not reacting at all... I tried a USB mouse too, but it gave no effect either. Just like they weren't connected, but I know they are.

How can I enable my mouse...? It would be very delightful to have it working.

Start sysinstall in console and configure> mouse.

Nope, still not working. I tried to configure it, but no reaction. It's a Q-TEC PS/2 mouse plain and simple.

my ps2 mouse didn't work either, so I tried my microsoft USB (wired) optical notebook mouse and it worked fine -- and without any configuration required.

mine too , mines a Gembird wheel ps2 optical mouse.

This problem seems to be for all A4-tech mouse, since my x-718 a4-tech mouse doesn't work when i use the ps2 jack, though when i hooked it up as USB it works.


Strangely, in FreeBSD 6 i had the same problem, so i guess it is a FreeBSD problem.

I have problem with the mouse too. A generic PS/2 not detected and a Microsoft Confort 300 USB neither. Please dev staff take into account this.

Hello fellow PC-BSDers Not sure if this is a bug of some kind, but PC-BSD won't active my mouse! So during the install of 1.51 I used the keyboard and though "Perhaps it will work after install.."
But to my luck, no! After fiddling with xorg.conf and not getting any smarter, reading howto's and copying them with my xorg.conf it still won't work! Then I though, perhaps it's something wrong with the usb port, and cycled between the 6 but still, no cigar!
HaikuOS can use the mouse of of box, Linux and Windows... HM, and now you ask yourself, what kind of mouse is this? It's a Logitech MX518!
I gave up trying to get it to work and got back to linux/windows(Sidux distro, winxp), but linux/windows is not BSD, and linux configures my screen terrible compared to PC-BSD..(Don't know why, still after giving xorg the right configuration it still look's like crap) So I want back!

Help! I'm willing to destroy the linux-partition in favor for PC-BSD, but what to do when the mouse won't even work in "live/install" mode?
