Thinking about trying PCBSD

I have a Actiontec 56k USB modem & a MS Optical Intelimouse Explorer USB/PS2 (the funny thing is it works 100% in SuSE home 8.1 linux with no drivers, but need drivers in windows)

With this new sharp looking distro, I'm wondering about hardware capability,
will there be a second disc to scan your computer for hardware and load all the correct stuff, modules, whatever they call them,
This of course would put a feather up microS, and other linux dist.
I will be looking forward to the main release of PC-BSD,
