Problem installing PBI when not running KDE

I was trying out Fluxbox as a window manager when I tried to install the Thunderbird PBI. It extracted okay but then I got a message that kdesu crashed. I had to reboot into KDE in order to install the PBI.

Is KDE a pre-requisite for installing PBIs?

kdesu is needed for all PBIs...if fluxbox doesn't support it then the answer is yes, KDE is necessary to install PBIs.

Try to install as root in text mode.

I don't think it needs kdesu that way but it probably still pops up kdialogs if they are in the scripts.

Same problem with BB, havn't tried installing off KDE since actually.
