Default K3b issue
I went to burn some mp3 & ogg files to a cd and I keep getting this error...(a minor/newbie one)::

K3b did not find a suitable writer. You will only be able to create an image.

Any quicks fixes?
Thanks :?:

I readed somewhere, that its good to run burning programs as root at the first time, as they detect the drives, after you can use user account

Do you know the command I use to get it to detect my devices because right now...I can't even mount my cd-rw (internal laptop drive).

It sounds as though you're still using a GENERIC kernel. In order to run K3b, you need to build a new kernel with atapicam support.

My guess would be that you just need to run it as root.

I just set it up here (and burned a cd) on a system that is less than 13hrs (including the 8hrs i was asleep) since install without touching the kernel.

Cd burning as root is a commons issue with *nix systems. Its a permissions thing.
