Default Correct GRUB config settings
I now have Ubuntu and PC-BSD on the same disk. However, I'm having trouble booting BSD. I added the following to my menu.lst, and the BSD partition is /dev/hda3 in Linux:

title PC-BSD 1.2
rootverify (hd0,2)
chainloader +1

I get the following error though:

"Error 13: Invalid executible" (or something along these lines)

Further up, the commented out example for windows is:

# title Windows 95/98/NT/2000
# root (hd0,0)
# makeactive
# chainloader +1

I'm going to try putting in 'makeactive' in my config and restarting. If this doesn't work, I'll edit this and make a note saying so. Otherwise, I'll verify that it worked.

changing rootverify to just root solved this issue and it works fine.

On my grub boot for pcbsd I have;
Code:
 title PCBSD
          root (hd1,0,a)
          kernel /boot/loader
          boot
Doesn't mean it's right but it works.
From what I have seen either way is ok not sure what the benefits are to one over the other, if any.
If it works don't fix it :!:
