how turn off services?

To turn of unnecesary services In Linux, i go to /ect/init.d and with chmod -x servicename turn off the service.
How make it in pc - bsd??

I guess that would work in *BSD too, offing the eXexutable flag. Try /etc/rc.d and usr/local/etc/rc.d
