Default New version notification - pbidir
This would be an awesome feature. I can hardly keep track of all the PBI's I have created so I never exactly know which PBI's are outdated. It could be a simple link that a users presses and then an email would be sent to the maintainer. This could really help out all of the outdated packages on pbidir.

Would visitors use it? There is already your e-mail address on the PBI details page...

Thats the problem, Kris would get bombarded with a 1,000 e-mails over Firefoxes update.

I was thinking more like a link somewhere on the PBI page that says something like Report outdated PBI or something, which would then notify the maintainer. After the link has been clicked it would go away or something simple like that.

There should be column about PC-BSD compatibliity, list of PC-BSD versions where particular PBI is working without problems. Sometimes it is good to compare older PBI with newer one.

Some times it's good to remove old PBI that are now apart of the install.

Kooka
KGpg
Bash
Zip/Unzip

are all on pbidir, and all in PC-BSD ^_^

Plus the KMPlayer PBI is not compatible as it fooks up the MPlayer included in PC-BSD 1.x :-)

For this kind of old PBIs, I think the best is to get in touch with the maintener. Adding one more link for "Report as old" would be considered bloat, don't you think so? Just a guess...

Agree.

It should be the job of who handles the PBIDir and/or inspection team.
