DVDROM freeze the system

When I try to copy my dvdrom to HDD nothing wrong happen.
But when I try to play a file on the DVDROM by any program it will freeze the system; when I try to play the same file from HDD by the same applications I used before it will not lock; so to me It sounds like Optical Disk access driver bug. My system is compatible with huge amount of OSs (at least 20).
Mobo is Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-g, based on intel 865PE chipset, 2.8GHz CPU HT enabled, 1GB RAM (dual channel), and all other features are working fine. Is there a special command to use to disable the DMA for DVDROM drive instead of HDD and DVDROM; or is there a BIOS feature I can change to remove this problem. Or should I wait for newer bug fixes or even newer pcbsd version, or should I obtain a dirver and install it?! Thanks

I don't have much BSD access at the moement, but I'd check. The System tool under Computer -> PCBSD Settings on the KMenu.

/etc/rc.conf, /boot/loader.conf, and your BIOs. Not sure if it can be enabled for HDD but not DVDROM. I don't really know but it might be a nudge in the right direction (The professionals do I'm sure)
