Default DesktopBSD tools in the FreeBSD ports collection
Quote:
The DesktopBSD Tools are a collection of applications designed

users can easily perform administrative tasks efficiently, such
as configuring wireless networks, accessing USB storage devices or
installing and upgrading software.

It would be nice to have PC-BSD tools in ports also.

Are those the same ones from the DesktopBSD Utilites PBI ???

Adding the PC-BSD ones to ports wouldn't be bad a bad thing.

Default desktopbsd tools
I compiled DBSD tools last week from ports to take it for a test drive. Everything went well.

Think it's a welcome addition for people who don't want to install software from the command line when there's no pbi available.

the DesktopBSDUtils PBI is much more of a hack then I'd like it to be. Its out of date and doesn't include some of the tools. If there are ports for the DesktopBSD tools now then those should definatly be used instead. At least until someone gets around to making a new PBI.
