If I have something sensitive I want secure, I stick it in the safe.
.Safe (Directory hidden somewhere on file system; might be encrypted.)
.Level 1 (hidden directory), contains low level encyrpted + hidden files.
.Level 2 (hidden + encrypted), contains low/mid level encyrpted + hidden .files
.Level 3 (hidden + better encryption), contains mid/high level encrypted/hidden files.
.Level 4 (non searchable + hidden), contains hidden files with strongest encryption I could muster without breaking the law.
Each directory that has been encrypted has a seperate pass phase from the files inside it, with increasing strength from level to level. .Level 4 has the permissions of d--------- Root Wheel, all directores are owned by Root Wheel with permissions revoked to all except Wheel in the .Level 1 directory. The pass keys / lists true location is hidden, only findable by root and accessable only by root.
Heh, not bad typing for being so hungry ^_^
If you need to keep it cool what you do online, I'd say secure your browser, avoid common browsers like FF/IE, make sure you have good fire wall/anti virus, User Passwords and Permissions. Keep your e-mail tight nit, only give it out to those who must have it online (signing up for stuff). (Keeps my junk mail low.) ensure the site you veiw (like online banking e.t.c.) is secure as it can be, even advise them if you see any holes.
Maybe even make a very secure SSH2 access to another computer somewhere, and surf through that remotly after doing the above to both.
Talk about private citizen 8-)
