Default Flash 7.0 for BSD?
Hej there

I'm a total n00b to PC-BSD, but i think this projeect is on the right track!

Q: Where do i find FLASH 7.0- and ShockWave-plugins for BSD?
- It dosn't seems to be in Ports either.

- I got the Flash 6.0 PBI installed, but fx. Google Video needs 7.0

Can anybody help here?

Yes, it is in the ports: http://cvsweb.freebsd.org/ports/www/linux-flashplugin7

You won't have Shockwave for FreeBSD/linux, unfortunately. Only Flash.

Right now, in FreeBSD itself, there are some problems with various Linux libraries. Most people haven't gotten flash7 working with firefox, I don't know about konqueror. Flash6 should work and flash7 should work with Linux-firefox.

The guys over at the GNU project has a new high priority project called Gnash, which is meant to be a free software flash movie player and Firefox plugin. It's still in it's early days, but I think maybe by February 2007, we have a good, GPL'ed Flash player that's portable to BSD and then PC-BSD can include Flash support out of the box, and have a native Flash plugin.

I visited their web site 2 weeks ago, but they didn't offer a download yet. I wish we can include Flash support out of the box this year

You can check out the CVS, not very complete yet, but it aims to be SWF-7 compliant, and then they'll go for Flash 8 support.

Flash PBI for Konqueror isn't working at all for me... doesn't show up in Konqueror's list of plugins. (I have refreshed the list, rebooted, refreshed again, it's not there.)

I'm using a fresh (unupdated) PC-BSD install.

Did you install it all the way? (It requires that you wait while it's downloading the plugin). Did you get an error message?

Some one else is having this problem?

I saw the message saying it would now download content, clicked ok, waited until it was done (for the 'Finish' button to become clickable), then clicked Finish.

I'll try uninstalling then reinstalling it.
___

Uninstalled, reinstalled, then did a "Scan for New Plugins" in Konqueror, still nothing there.

Installer showed a window confirming that it had finished, and that I should restart Konqueror. (This happened last time too.)
