Strange
The contents are different. Anyway, the console says there is no .font.conf file...

Download this file to /home/dingens, then do this:

Code:
mv ~/fonts.conf ~/.fonts.conf
Then logout from KDE and re-login. It should work (select your custom Microsoft fonts in each application configuration though). If it doesn't work, show me the out put of:

Code:
ls -a ~

in terminal with admin rights:
Code:
PCBSD# cd /home/marcel/
PCBSD# mv /home/marcel/fonts.conf /home/marcel/.fonts.conf
PCBSD# ls -a /home/marcel
till here it should be all ok, but when i reboot/relogin, than it's the same look as every time. and the .fonts.conf exist but take no effect at all.

thank you guys till here. when anyone have an idea, ok. the next step is reinstall the system.

for more infos: i have installed qt engines but it take no effect of this topic or yes?

Don't worry, we'll find out where the problem comes from

Could you copy/paste the output of the following for me please?

Code:
ls -a ~

Tell me one thing: this screenshots shows that the rules are working fine already for at least the console:

So, this makes me think that it's an application configuration issue. Could you show me a screenshot of the fonts that you set up for KDE in the K Control Center please? Same for Konqueror, a screnshot of the fonts configuration menu, bitte

What applications follow our custom rules, which ones don't?

Tell me, are all those 'bad' apps running through the linux emulation layer? If so, which one are you using?

I briefly switched to the rh8 layer before getting a problem resolved and switching back to rh7. One thing I noticed whilst using the rh8 layer was that the fonts in my linux apps looked ugly. They're fine under rh7.
