Waiting and waiting and waiting...
It's more likely that the drop in H.P.D. for pcbsd on distrowatch reflects the importance of that driver.

The driver has been made and uploaded and I believe approved. I think there is a problem replicating the files to the PBIDIR mirrors. It should be resolved soon (probably).

The 7676 driver is for PC-BSD1.0rc1 and higher as it is compiled against a kernel from FreeBSD 6. Compatability for older nVidia chips will be added to this driver when nVidia releases the "legacy" drivers.

The 7667 dirver is ONLY for PC-BSD 0.8 and earlier as it was compiled against a Freebsd 5 kernel.

I have PBI's for Doom3 Full version, Doom3 Demo version and full Enemy Territory 2.60 waiting for the driver release. I also have PBI's for Unreal Tournament 2004 Demo (and soon Full version) and will do a Quake 4 and Enemy Territory Quake Wars when it is released.

So I'm keen for it as well.

*UPDATE* Sblevin, you were faster than me LOL

it's on the pbidir test list for a few days now so it should be out within the next few days.

http://www.pbidir.com/developers.php?ac ... b6a1ba73b6

I have tested it already with my radeon 9800 pro (different hardware) and geforce2 ti (unsupported by the driver until the legacy nvidia river is released)
and it doesn't break the system.

For people who tested with suported cards reports are also very positive.

The problems with gaming right are related to the change to the FreeBSD 6.0 base system and linux compatibility packs (as there are several different packs) but this should be ironed out rather quickly as people start installing and using the games and Updates are made to the system.
