Clicking Through Screensavers Made Monitor Sleep.

I was clicking through the various screensavers in the Display and Monitors option in Gnome when my monitor suddenly went to sleep.I tried to wake the monitor by moving the mouse and then pushing several keys on the keyboard but the monitor refused to wake up.I am running PC-BSD 9.
