Default VLC Player no sound?
hi guys,

i am running PC-BSD 64 bit KDE.

so VLC (1.1.13) doesn't play sound it opens and plays the file, but no sound.

for example when i play and MP3 file with vlc player it plays it, but no sound but when i open it with amarok it plays just fine?

any ideas?

Default VLC Player no sound?
Can you check output of running vlc from xterm? Does it throw any error
messages? How about settings, is it using OSS?

how do i check the output of xterm for vlc?

and yes i am using OSS as my mixer it is the only option i have to select

i fixed it!!!

what i did was, i clicked on tools on vlc player and then clicked audio
and i selected the output module "UNIX OSS audio output" and it started to play audio
