Default Wireless on Levono thinkpad edge lapto with PCBSD9
Hello everybody.

First I beg your pardon because I'm french and I don't speak very well english. Then I'm sorry for the mistakes I will make.

I have a levono thinkpad edge 15 laptop. I initially installed PCBSD 9.0 release and my graphic card and the wifi weren't supported.
I went to IRC to ask some help and someone advices me to install PCBSD 9 STABLE-201-20-225 x86 iso.
That's what I did...

Luckily, my video card were supported!
But my wifi wasn't.

Then I've tried to use the ndisgen utility with x86 windows drivers for my levono laptop. And it's the only driver I found which works for windows 7..

I put the INF file and then the SYS file and then it says "CONVERSION FAILED line 3780: syntax error"..
Like Indiana Jones Let's go for new adventures..
I've tried to remove this line 3780 and after this operation the process works and it ask me additional firmwares files. I give it the .cat file and then it's also successful. great I have some files converted for instance the latest in a .cat.o file.

Last step : "Kernel module generation"
I press enter to launch the process and..

"Generating Makefile... done.
Building kernel module... "/usr/share/mk/bsd.kmod.mk", line 12: "can't find kernel source tree"
build failed. Exiting.

Indeed I have some files (even a .ko file) and I've tried to put them in /boot/modules but needless to say that it doesn't work :/

Does anyone can help me please?
I hope I'm not speaking too bad..

.
Double-click on your Control Panel link, open System Manager, Tasks, and choose Fetch System Source, then when it's done choose Fetch System Ports Tree and wait for it to download.

That should fix you up.

Hello and thank you so much to try to help me!
I did what you said but now the error is :

"Generating Makefile... done.
Building kernel module... "/sys/conf/kmod.mk", line 116: Malformed conditional (${MK_CLANG_IS_CC} == "no" && ${CC:T:Mclang} != "clang")
"/sys/conf/kmod.mk", line 120: if-less endif
"/sys/conf/kern.mk", line 18: Malformed conditional (${MK_CLANG_IS_CC} != "no" || ${CC:T:Mclang} == "clang")
"/sys/conf/kern.mk", line 32: if-less endif
"/sys/conf/kern.mk", line 54: Malformed conditional (${MK_CLANG_IS_CC} == "no" && ${CC:T:Mclang} != "clang")
"/sys/conf/kern.mk", line 61: if-less endif
make: fatal errors encountered -- cannot continue
build failed. Exiting."

I'm sorry but I'm too noob to understand this.
Any idea else?
Is it difficult to compile its own driver?

Thanks for all

Hello (from France too here)

I have a Lenovo edge 320 and unfortunately the wifi card isn't supported on BSD atm (RT8188CE).

You can install the kernel source tree from the PCBSD control panel
