Couple of quick questions
I am new to BSD. I have been using Linux for years and finally decided to try PC-BSD because I could not get any Linux distro to work with the video hardware on an old HP computer. PC-BSD seems to work fine with the video hardware. I do have a couple of questions that I hope can be answered without me doing a bunch of research.
First question
After the install, my MBR was not changed and my computer boots directly to Windows. I used a program called GAG to boot to my PC-BSD partition. I did not install GAG because I wanted to see if there is a native boot loader, like GRUB or LILO. Should I install GAG or are there better options?
Second question
When I boot to PC-BSD, my wireless dongle is not recognized. I am used to wireless problems from using Linux. However, I do not have any idea where to start looking for a wireless driver. The dongle is a Netgear WNA1100. Where can I find information about getting this to work? I tried some command line stuff to try to get information about the wireless adapter, but commands that I use in Linux do not seem to work in BSD, such as lsusb and lshw.
I do have one more problem regarding my screen resolution, but I will make another thread once I get the internet and boot problems resolved.
