Screen Resolution
Heya,
I was noticing with KDE and rc1 that the max screen resolution is 1024x768 @ 61 is there a way to change this? As this is not the default resolution for my LCD (1280x1024 @ 60 is).

I had the same problem..
I had to manually add "1280x1024" to the X config file. /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
Now that I look at that directory, I see I now have a xorg.conf file and a XF86Config file. I think that's due to the problems I had installing the nvidia driver. (My card needs the legacy driver)
Anyway, once I manually added the resolution I wanted, I restarted X and all is fine.

I had to use xorgconfig to create a /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. Be very careful, as most people need to do this a few times before it works, and entering a wrong value will prevent X and KDE from starting

Ok just double clicking the xorgconfig file in the /usr/X11R6/bin/ folder does nothing am I missing something here? Also there does not seem to be a spot to change settings in the XF86Config file.

type in xorgconfig from bash or konsole, you can select run command and type konsole, then type in xorgconfig.

Ok tried that and it is telling me that it can not write to the directory (either the /usr/X11R6/bin or /etc/X11/). Any ideas?

BTW, Do not try xorgconfig unless you have command line experience!!!
How to fix a system that won't boot into KDE or X:
Log in as root
cd /etc/X11 [Enter]
The easy way:
rm xorg.conf [Enter]
halt [Enter]
The hard way:
edit xorg.conf [Enter]
Press [Esc] when you are done
Halt [Enter]
Once again, if you do not understand these commands I would not try it

I adjusted my screen resolution by editing my XF86config file found in etc/X11/
I installed the nvidia drivers
made the appropriate changes to the XF86config file to use the new drivers.
upon restarting x i still had a 1024 x 768 resolution, but after putting in the correct horiz and vert ranges for my monitor, I was able to use 1600 x 1200 @ 75.
