Default Xarchiver, zipinfo error
hi all --

a possible issue with the Xarchiver:

download a .zip file > double-click in File Manager > "Can't run the archiver executable: Failed to execute child process "zipinfo" (No such file or directory)"

i'm not seeing anything in freshports re a zipinfo executable -- is this a Linux thing?

thanks!

Nope, it gets installed with unzip. Which used to be part of the base system but I see it's not there for 9.0. "pkg_add -r unzip" as superuser should fix the problem. I'll ask Kris to re-add to base system for 9.1.

hi Dru --
thanks!

however, just a few minutes ago
Code:
rook% unzip -d colors ColorSamplerPack.zip
Archive: ColorSamplerPack.zip
d colors/colors
 extracting: colors/colors/adaryn.vim
 extracting: colors/colors/adrian.vim
 extracting: colors/colors/aiseered.vim
.....
so unzip is definitely installed. or is zipinfo a dependency that isn't in base?
thanks again!
cheers!

EDIT: just did the
Code:
pkg_add -r unzip
and now i have zipinfo
Code:
rook% which zipinfo
/usr/local/bin/zipinfo

I just added archivers/unzip to the xarchiver PBI. Once it rebuilds it should be able to work with the zip files without the need for any extra steps.
