Smile epdfview & firefox
Hello beastie friends,

Here is a way I found to get epdfview to open pdf documents when using firefox. While using firefox, attempt to open a pdf file. A pop-up screen will ask for input. select "open with" and then browse to /usr/local/bin and find and highlight the epdfview executable, and select open. Then check the box in the pop-up menu that allows for always open documents of this type. You should be good to go !!

Default Using kmail with Firefox
This tip allows the use of kmail with Firefox.
I tried to e-mail a site that just said send me an e-mail and I was offered the choice of Yahoo or Gmail or choose.

I like to use kmail so I just followed sweet skunk's post found and highlighted kmail (or whatever) and away I went.

You can achieve the same result in "edit > preferences" look for email an follow sweet skunks post.

Thanks once again sweet skunk
Ken

A tweak to the tip above, is to open the 'downloads' window of your browser, right-click any file in your downloads list, select '/usr/local/bin/dolphin' as the app to 'open with'. In this case, the control gets passed to dolphin which will be able to direct to the appropriate application among those types it recognizes. This might not work outside of a KDE desktop, in which case, substitute another file manager for dolphin.
