Question virtualization in pcBSD9-qemu,libvirtd etc..
Hi everybody

Im a bit confused about the different virtualization options in pcBSD/freeBSD, Id like to know if there are any sites, guides or tutorials related to qemu/freeBSD, libvirtd/freeBSD, virt-manager/freeBSD etc...most of what Ive found is related to linux, not to freeBSD/pcBSD.

For example, to use the pbi for the virt-manager, should I install qemu as well? or that pbi includes everything I need to run and create virtual machines?

Ive got a few questions like that, but I dont know where I can get information related to those topics (the use of qemu, libvirtd etc in freeBSD)

Thanks

Default virtualization in pcBSD9-qemu,libvirtd etc..
Do you mean as a guest or host? As a guest you can download our
pre-build VBox/Vmware images. As a host I'm using VirtualBox here from
the AppCafe, no real setup needed, just install and go

Question vitualbox
I mean as a host. Ive used too virtualbox in pcBSD, but in the 8.x series, I still haven't seen the pbi at the appcafe for the pcbsd9 i386 x32 release, that's one of the reasons why I'm trying to test qemu with BSD as a host. I should have asked before for the virtualbox pbi.I dont see it at the appcafe...where can i find it?(I prefer not to use the ports)

Default vitualbox
Looks like the virtualbox PBI was failing to build.. I'm looking into it
now, and hope to have it in the AppCafe in the next few days.

Thanks very much for your help, I'm not in a hurry, so in that case I'll wait for that virtualbox pbi.

It should be in the AppCafe later today, but you can grab it here:

ftp://ftp.pcbsd.org/pub/pbioutgoing/i386/9/emulators/virtualbox-ose/

Just install it with "pbi_add" as root, and you'll be good
