Default PCBSD on Sony VAIO VPCEB390X
Hi All,

I have installed the latest PCBSD on my Sony Vaio and updated it through PC-BSD Update Manager.

Specs of my VAIO
Code:
Intel i5-580M
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
4GB DDR3
Integrated LAN Marvell Yukon 88E8059
Atheros AR9285 WLAN
Here is the output of 'uname -a'

Code:
FreeBSD pcbsd-188 9.0-RC2 FreeBSD 9.0-RC2 #1: Mon Nov 14 10:24:41 PST 2011 root@build9x64.pcbsd.org:/usr/obj/builds/amd64/pcbsd-build90/fbsd-source/9.0/sys/GENERIC amd64
The dmesg output is attached with this post.

Things working:
- Sound
- Wifi
- trackpad with scrolling area

Not working:
- Battery indicator
- resume after suspend. black screen
- Graphics Radeon HD or Radeon HD with 3d enabled.
- function keys

Not tested:
- bluetooth
- card reader
- HDMI

Issues:
- Fan is always ON. no change by toggling the ACPI from boot menu. temp always between 54C to 60C. Even with just the browser(3-4 tabs) and appcafe open
- battery indicator always show 0.0% and discharging. does not even identify if the power chord is plugged in.
Output of 'sysctl hw.acpi.battery' is
Code:
hw.acpi.battery.life: -1
hw.acpi.battery.time: -1
hw.acpi.battery.state: 7
hw.acpi.battery.units: 1
hw.acpi.battery.info_expire: 5
I dont know how to enable/start and test bluetooth.
Also, at this time not able to find a way to attach dmesg output to this post...

There will be a bluetooth GUI in 9.1. Until then, you can try manual configuration using the instructions at http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO...bluetooth.html.
