Default PC-BSD8.2 and PC-BSD9 Live CD booting problem
1) I installed PC-BSD8.2 in my laptop with the DVD ISO and it works fine. But when I tried to install in my desktop with the working DVD, it halts forever (but the computer does not freeze) forever at the following point:

Quote:
Verifying DMI Pool Data ..........................
Boot from CD/DVD: CD loader 1.2

Building the boot loader arguments
Looking up /BOOT/LOADER .... Found
Relocating the loader and the BTX
Starting the BTX loader

BTX Loader 1.00 BTX versionis 1.02
Consoles: internal video/keyboard
BIOS CD is cd0
BIOS drive c: is disk0
2) I tried with the latest snapshot of PC BSD 9 (ftp://ftp.pcbsd.org/pub/snapshots/9-...4-DVD-live.iso), it boots fine till the KDE starts and then screen goes black.

I downloaded ftp://ftp.pcbsd.org/pub/snapshots/9-...25-x64-DVD.iso and seems to run fine till the installer loads, but have not installed so far.

Default The Combined Controller problem ?
This appears to be the same bug as reported in this thread --

http://forums.pcbsd.org/showthread.php?t=13997

If possible please test whether it is a combined controller problem. Thanks.

There is not multiple harddrive of my desktop, so the problem of the muliple controller is not valid in my case.

The same 8.2 DVD which installed PC-BSD in one of my laptops (Toshiba) could not go further than

Quote:
/boot/kernel/kernel text=0x94a334
in another laptop (HP).

So it seems like the PC-BSD is ready for the realtime and maybe the reason why users hesitate to adopt, just my guess. ;-)
