Unhappy pkg_add error: Unable to fetch by url
I tried to pkg_add -r <packagename> in portjail, but I kept on getting the 'unable to fetch by url error as shown below.

I checked online and found a link at pfsense forum (http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?P....html#msg46662), but it asks to change the link, and I could not figure out what is the right link in the pcbsd-8.2 case?

Quote:
/> pkg_add -r i3status
Error: Unable to get ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/po.../i3status.tbz: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
pkg_add: unable to fetch 'ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-8.2-release/Latest/i3status.tbz' by URL

Quote:
/> pkg_add -r wicd
Error: Unable to get ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/po...test/wicd.tbz: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
pkg_add: unable to fetch 'ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-8.2-release/Latest/wicd.tbz' by URL
Could not figure out what exactly went wrong all of a sudden in a working portjail a while ago?

Thanks in advance for help.

You must know, Not all software is packaged, it is more, you should check the server where the package (which is what I do) and see if they are or not.

Use The FreeBSD Ports Collection and compile it!, (wicd & i3 satus is not exist in The FreeBSD Software)

Search your application (if It hasn't got your software, is not exist for FreeBSD official)
