Default Broadcom bcm43xx
Hello ,
I just installed PCBSD 8.1 on my Mac ...
But seems there's no support for my wireless card Broadcom bcm43xx .
FreeBSD seems to have a driver for this card , so why PCBSD has not ?
Someone can help ?

I'm stuck with OSX until I can solve this .

Many thx in advance

David

Not much can be helped until you provide more information.

Look here

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?q...SD+8.0-RELEASE

That should come already loaded.

Run kldstat please.

Many thx !
No , it's not loaded by default .
I had to compile it from the sources ...
But I still lack the firmware ( it' s in ports ... but i cannot download it ) .

Wouldn't be better to have all this stuff ready from the beginning ?

Many thanks again

Default Broadcom bcm43xx
Added that port for future releases. We had bwn-firmware-kmod already,
must have missed bwi*

Good News!
I was not aware of
ports/net/bwi-firmware-kmod
..I have been using Win Driver bcml5 for years with ndisgen.. what a pain!
Plus under that arrangement the Wifi connection is dropped about every 5 to 20 minutes no matter how I config. I have worked ndisgen against many Dell laptops and many bcm43xx wifi ..all with the same results.
I am looking forward to better results using...
ports/net/bwi-firmware-kmod

THanks for the Update!
