Default PCBSD on Notebook with wireless
Hi, personnaly I run PCBSD on my PC.
My friend however has a notebook Acer and would like to change his Windows XP.
He has a wireless internet connection.

Can I suggest PC BSD? I never configured a wireless on my PC...
Can it be done? I did not find any doc about the question, and an older wireless Q by another user was not answered.
So I try again.

Sorry! Really in need te help my friend out.

Wifi only works for a limited number of chipsets so your friend must to have one of them, be integrated or be in USB or PCCARD usually if the NIC it's recognized due to the wifi chipset the detection is automatically made by PCBSD only it's necessary to write the key if the AP or BSSID it's encrypted

Download the dvd (version 8) and boot from it. It has now a live version of pc-bsd. So you will immediately see what works and what not.

Except Broadcom wifi which can work with the ndisgen method with Windows drivers.
