Default realtek alc268 no sound
Hello all, PC-BSD is my first experience with other os than windows. Everything works great except sound.

Ok googled it and problem solved no help needed. Now I try to get my wifi card to work(Broadcom 432 AGN) and build in webcam, my laptop is compal jfl92.

Could you please share how you solved you problem with us. At least post the link to the website that helped you.

You might want to consider starting a new thread in the Networking forum. Have you checked to see if the wifi chipset is even supported? Also, check the FreeBSD handbook and the forums there as there was a major rewrite of the wireless setup in v8.0.

Webcams are very hit and miss, however, I did run across something about them here, FreeBSD webcam support: video4bsd, that might be of interest. You could also google webcam and freebsd.

well I typed

mixer
into terminal
and mixer ogain was 0 so I set it like this
Code:
Mixer vol      is currently set to 100:100
Mixer pcm      is currently set to 100:100
Mixer speaker  is currently set to 100:100
Mixer mic      is currently set to  79:79
Mixer rec      is currently set to  81:81
Mixer ogain    is currently set to  81:81
Mixer monitor  is currently set to  75:75
Recording source: mic

THANK YOU so very much!!! My "mixer ogain" was set to set to 0:0. I set it to 100:100 by typing "mixer ogain 100:100" in the terminal(for those who may not know). Sound works perfectly now!!! Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!



P.S. It's the little things people take for granted...
