Default Ifconfig permission denied (possible repeat)
I may have already posted this, not sure...

Alright so I'll just stick to the main point. I'm new to BSD. Trying to get my wireless working but am getting "permission denied" when trying to run 'ifconfig interface up' from a root terminal. I don't understand this. I have used 'whoami' to verify that I am root.

I believe the drivers for my card are installed because it shows up in the list of interfaces when I type ifconfig.

I have searched the forums and found this to be very informative but it doesn't help my issue of getting a permission denied when running 'ifconfig interface up' both as a regular user or root.

Not sure where to proceed with this...
