Default NVIDIA accelerated driver
Updated NVIDIA driver via PCBSD Update Manager (that icon on tray area) and found that OpengGL uses Mesa software rasterizer. Perfomances are very poor. I had FreeBSD7 previously installed on same box i have now pcbsd and differences between perfomances of nvidia driver between these 2 os are humongous. on freebsd i had nvidia acc driver installed manually.
can i do that(manually install nvidia acc driver for freebsd) on pcbsd as well? will it fix the opengl problem (to substitute mesa with nvidia opengl)?

You have to use a 64-bit driver if you're using a 64-bit operating system. As far as I know, Nvidia doesn't provide 64-bit drivers for FreeBSD. I'll have to look into it. By the way, could you tell me what Nvidia graphics card you are using?

I was able to find more information here.

The current version of PC-BSD(7.1.1) uses FreeBSD 7.2-Stable. Work is currently being done to get Nvidia graphics cards working properly in future FreeBSD/amd64 releases. Currently most cards from both ATi and Nvidia feature lousy or no 3D support for their cards under FreeBSD/amd64.
